Virtualitics First AI Readiness Platform to Win IL6 Secret-Level ATO

Pasadena, Calif. – October 07, 2026 -- Virtualitics has become the first AI-native readiness platform to secure Impact Level 6 (IL6) Authority to Operate, clearing it to process classified workloads on Secret-level Department of War networks.

Virtualitics secured IL6 authorization in nine months, beating the typical 12-to-18-month timeline

The company achieved the certification alongside Impact Level 5 (IL5) authorization, which covers Controlled Unclassified Information and National Security Systems workloads at the unclassified level. Together the two authorizations let Department of War leaders deploy Virtualitics' AI Readiness Applications across both unclassified and Secret-level environments while meeting each tier's security requirements.

Platform already runs across every U.S. military branch supporting maintenance and supply missions

Virtualitics is operationally deployed across every U.S. military service, where it supports readiness decisions spanning maintenance, materiel, personnel, supply, sustainment, force generation and operational planning. The IL5/IL6 authorizations create a reusable security framework intended to accelerate onboarding for future customers and missions.

CISO Kyle Tobener says IL6 status reflects long-term investment in platform security

"Few commercial AI SaaS platforms have achieved an IL6 authorization because the bar is exceptionally high," said Kyle Tobener, Chief Information Security Officer at Virtualitics, adding that the milestone creates a hardened foundation enabling customers to combine classified data, approved defense systems and leading AI models for mission-critical readiness analysis.

Virtualitics used Palantir FedStart to support the IL6 authorization process

The company leveraged Palantir FedStart in pursuing the classified-level certification. Chief Engineer Justin Gantenberg said the authorizations let leaders combine mission data with advanced AI so that trusted insights reach decision-makers faster across both unclassified and Secret-level operations.

Virtualitics named to 2026 NatSec100 and Inc. 5000 lists

The company was recognized on Silicon Valley Defense Group's 2026 NatSec100 list and the 2026 Inc. 5000 list. The platform applies decision intelligence and explainable AI directly to mission data already resident in approved environments, avoiding the need to move data between security domains.
