Charlotte – October 14, 2026 -- TOPPAN Packaging ranked first for both product quality and value for money among eight major foodservice packaging suppliers in a Technomic survey of operators, leading the runner-up by two percentage points on quality and five on value.
Survey measures satisfaction among existing buyers, not brand awareness
Technomic ran the custom study (Study #20371) in April 2026. Foodservice operators rated only the packaging suppliers they currently buy from, rather than ranking an unaided list of competitors. The study was commissioned, and the source describes it as a direct measure of satisfaction among existing buyers.
The base for TOPPAN Packaging's scores was current customers, with 66 respondents (n=66). The margins over the second-highest supplier were two percentage points for quality and five for value.
Newer market entrant claims lead on quality and value
TOPPAN Packaging describes itself as one of the newer names in foodservice packaging. The research found strong satisfaction among customers familiar with its capabilities and performance.
President and CEO Ron Milz said the result carries weight because it comes from customers who buy and use the products daily. Jay Patel, Chief Operating Officer for Thermoformed Packaging, said the company aims to build new relationships across the foodservice industry.
Operators face labor, sustainability and cost pressure
Chief Technology Officer Laura Buen Abad said operators are under pressure from labor, sustainability and operating costs. She said packaging now has to simplify operations, protect product quality, improve the consumer experience and create value across the supply chain.
The company's products serve quick-service restaurants, convenience retail, healthcare dining, higher education, hospitality and entertainment venues. TOPPAN Packaging says it pairs manufacturing expertise and product innovation with domestic production capabilities to help customers manage costs.
