Field Medical's PFA Catheter Hits 94.2% Vein Durability in 12-Month Trial

Atlanta and Carlsbad, Calif. – September 20, 2026 -- Field Medical, Inc. reported 12-month outcomes from its first-in-human Field PULSE trial showing 94.2% per-vein durability for pulmonary vein isolation using an optimized waveform, with results published in JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology and presented as a Late-Breaking Clinical Trial at HRX Live 2026.

Subsecond ablation cuts median procedure time to 13 minutes

The trial recorded a 13-minute median elapsed pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) ablation time, with a fastest case completed in 7.7 minutes. Field Medical's high-voltage focal pulsed field ablation (PFA) architecture, delivered through its FieldForce PFA System, applies energy in under 200 milliseconds per point, reducing the need for prolonged catheter stability during atrial procedures.

Boston – September 18, 2026 -- Three Harvard University students have won the U.S. National title at the James Dyson Award 2026 for Rumble Rims, an infrared eye-tracking headset designed to screen young athletes for possible concussions in about 60 seconds. Radhika Saran, Cleo Pontone, and Sophia DeVito take home $6,500 in national prize money to fund further development of the device.

ElectroWire's LightningWire Completes First Six Cardiac Cases, Zero Complications

Lexington, S.C. – September 13, 2026 -- ElectroWire Medical's FDA-cleared LightningWire Transseptal Puncture System has completed its first six clinical cases at Spartanburg Medical Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina, with zero complications reported.

Six procedures spanned mitral repair, LAA occlusion and pulsed field ablation

The case mix included one mitral valve repair, one left atrial appendage occlusion, and four pulsed field ablations, performed by structural interventional cardiologist Dr. Nalin Srivastava and cardiac electrophysiologist Dr. David Rodak. The team used four different transseptal introducers and two different electrosurgical generators during the cases, testing the device's compatibility with equipment already in operator inventories.
