TGI Fridays Enters Balkans via 10-Unit Devolli Group Deal

Dallas – September 09, 2026 -- TGI Fridays has signed a development agreement with Devolli Group to build 10 restaurants across Kosovo, Albania and North Macedonia, marking the American casual dining chain's first entry into the Balkans.

Devolli Group secures exclusive sub-franchise rights across three Balkan markets

Under the agreement, Devolli Group will develop the 10 units and holds exclusive rights to sub-franchise the TGI Fridays brand throughout the territory, creating a platform for further expansion across Southeast Europe.

Deal advances TGI Fridays' target of 1,000 restaurants worldwide by 2030

The Balkans agreement is the latest in a string of international deals under the brand's "1-2-3 Strategic Vision." Over the past nine months, TGI Fridays has signed new development agreements in Kenya and the Maldives and extended partnerships in Peru, Japan, Mexico, the Philippines, Greece, Cyprus and Spain, collectively adding more than 150 restaurants to its global development pipeline.

Balkans entry builds on existing European footprint in five markets

The new territory complements TGI Fridays' established operations in Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Norway and the United Kingdom, strengthening its European presence as it pursues a franchise-first growth model through local operating partners.

"Devolli Group is the right partner to introduce TGI Fridays to the Balkans. Their market expertise, operational excellence and long-term vision give us tremendous confidence in what we can build together," said Phil Broad, Global President of TGI Fridays.

Devolli Group is one of Southeast Europe's largest privately held business conglomerates

Headquartered in Kosovo, Devolli Group operates a diversified portfolio spanning manufacturing, food and beverage production, hospitality, retail, real estate and strategic investments across multiple international markets, employing thousands across the region. TGI Fridays currently operates nearly 400 restaurants in almost 40 countries.
