Stibo Systems Named Gartner PIM Leader, Its Second in 2026

Aarhus – October 15, 2026 -- Stibo Systems has been named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Product Information Management Solutions, its second Leader placement in a Gartner Magic Quadrant this year.

The Danish master data management (MDM) vendor, which markets the Trusted Intelligence Platform, earlier secured Leader status in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Master Data Management Solutions. That report was dated 6 April 2026. The PIM report is dated 12 October 2026.

Stibo Systems ties product data to agentic commerce and answer engines

CEO Adrian Carr said agentic commerce is moving from pilot to practice, with AI agents comparing products and giving recommendations to shoppers. The company argues that two shifts are raising the stakes for product data: answer engine optimization (AEO) and agentic commerce.

AEO is the practice of ensuring products are represented completely and accurately inside AI assistants and answer engines, and it relies on structured product data. Agentic commerce performs best when agents can evaluate and act on data that is complete, consistent and well governed. Stibo Systems says both rest on the same foundation of hierarchies, classifications, relationships, governance and context.

Product Experience Data Cloud, ProductGen AI and an MCP server carry the AI offering

The Product Experience Data Cloud is built on STEP, the company's trusted intelligence platform. It combines the product data foundation with the governance and context needed for emerging AI use cases.

ProductGen AI generates descriptions, translations and channel-specific content directly from governed product data. Stibo Systems says this lets content scale without drifting from product truth. The company's MCP server extends that data to AI agents through governed tools with full semantic context.

Carr said answer engines and agents interpret the structure, relationships and context beneath a catalogue, not only its content.

Platform spans retail, manufacturing and regulated products

Stibo Systems says its platform supports the hierarchies, classifications, relationships and data models each industry requires. It scales from a focused first deployment to enterprise-wide use. Carr said the same governed foundation can support a retailer's catalog, a manufacturer's technical specifications or a regulated product's compliance data.

Model-agnostic architecture targets vendor lock-in concerns

The company positions its independence as a selling point for buyers building AI strategies. Its architecture is designed for interoperability and is model agnostic, so customers can use it with the AI platform of their choice. Stibo Systems says this keeps the product data foundation stable while the surrounding technology ecosystem evolves.

Gartner noted that it does not endorse any vendor and that its publications reflect the opinions of its research organization. The PIM report was authored by Jason Daigler, Greg Carlucci and Nicholas Mortensen.
