Global – – October 20, 2026 -- SpotSee is advising shippers to choose between impact and tilt monitoring based on the specific handling event that could damage a product, rather than on fragility alone. Its TiltWatch XTR QR indicator shows visible evidence when a shipment tips beyond 80 degrees.
Impact indicator turns red above a selected G-force threshold
ShockWatch 2 QR is a single-use indicator that changes permanently from clear to red when an impact exceeds its selected G-force threshold. A smartphone scan sends the indicator condition, time, location and serial number to the SpotSee Cloud. Receiving teams can follow their normal process if no impact is shown, or hold the shipment for inspection if one is.
Tilt indicator exposes tipping that upright arrival conceals
A crate can arrive upright without showing it was tipped earlier in transit. TiltWatch XTR QR captures tilt status with time, location and serial number through the same scan-to-cloud workflow. SpotSee names industrial machinery, medical equipment and electronics as candidate uses.
Precision machinery can face both risks: shock during loading and tipping during handling. Using both indicators lets teams distinguish between the two event types.
Connected loggers add detail where indicators fall short
ShockWatch RFID adds impact monitoring to RFID inventory and warehouse workflows. The passive tag is read by compatible UHF RFID scanners and can feed existing RFID systems.
ShockLog 298 records shock, vibration and environmental conditions over time, with optional sensors for tilt and roll. Paired with ShockLog Cellular GL, it adds cellular connectivity, remote access, threshold alerts and a cloud dashboard.
Decision framework ties data volume to receiving workflow
SpotSee's selection logic runs on five questions: whether shock is the main risk, whether the product must stay upright, whether either event could compromise it, whether a simple exception flag suffices, and whether detailed transit records are needed. Packaging, shipment value, transport conditions and the number of hand-offs should also factor in. Monitoring delivers value when a defined condition triggers a clear receiving, inspection or escalation process.
