Twenty-Six Defense, headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, operates facilities across eight states and employs 3,300 people supporting the U.S. military. The entity is the American operating segment of Elbit Systems Ltd., a global defense technology company traded on NASDAQ and the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange under the ticker ESLT.
Sonobuoy and undersea electronics maker retains leadership under CEO Donnelly Bohan
Donnelly Bohan will continue leading Twenty-Six Defense Maritime as CEO, overseeing a portfolio that includes high-performance sonobuoys, undersea electronics and Logos Technologies' imagery systems. Bohan said the company will maintain the Sparton name as a product brand across its sonobuoy line to preserve its 125-year legacy in maritime sensor technology.
Company traces roots to 1900 founding as The Withington Company
Sparton originated in Michigan in 1900 and later pioneered America's first all-electric radio in the 1920s before becoming central to U.S. antisubmarine warfare technology in the 1950s. Elbit Systems of America acquired Sparton in 2021, integrating it into the broader U.S. defense portfolio now rebranded as Twenty-Six Defense.
