San Jose, Calif. – September 04, 2026 -- SiMa.ai and ARK Electronics have launched the ARK-SiMa.ai Modalix MLSoC Bundles, a production-ready hardware-software package aimed at cutting development time for autonomous drones used in defense, agriculture, and commercial operations.
Joint platform pairs SiMa.ai compute with ARK Electronics drone hardware
The bundles combine SiMa.ai's Modalix System-on-Module, built on its Modalix MLSoC, with Palette Neat, an agentic development environment the company says compresses AI development timelines from months to days. ARK Electronics, a Salt Lake City-based maker of made-in-the-USA, NDAA-compliant, Blue UAS-listed flight controllers and embedded computers, built and validated the joint solution for the drone ecosystem.
Modalix module matches form factor of leading GPU-based edge platform
SiMa.ai states the Modalix SoM is form-factor compatible with the industry's leading GPU-based edge platform, a design choice intended to let OEMs swap in the new module without redesigning existing drone architectures. The companies say this compatibility lowers power consumption and cost while improving performance in size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) metrics critical to drone manufacturers.
Bundles target OEMs and system integrators across defense and agriculture
The ARK-SiMa.ai Modalix MLSoC Bundles are available immediately to qualified drone OEMs and system integrators through SiMa.ai's partner portal. Durga Peddireddy, VP of Strategic Business Development and Partnerships at SiMa.ai, said the drone market has reached an inflection point where competitive programs require platforms combining trusted hardware with high-performance AI compute. ARK Electronics CEO Alex Klimaj said the joint solution gives customers a purpose-built foundation with strong performance-per-watt in a familiar form factor, enabling faster development and scaled deployment.
ARK Electronics is a member of the Dronecode Foundation and an ArduPilot partner, positioning the bundle within open-standard drone ecosystems already used by defense and commercial integrators.
