Schwarz Digits achieved SAP certification for STACKIT within one and a half years, according to Chief Sales Officer Bernd Wagner. He said the milestone removes 'the last hurdle' for on-premises customers considering a cloud migration, positioning STACKIT as the first European hyperscaler to combine sovereignty with competitive pricing.

Gartner data cited in the announcement shows over 30 percent of companies operating ERP systems still run mission-critical SAP data landscapes fully or partially in their own data centers. Much of the European Mittelstand and nearly all DAX-listed corporations fall into this category, facing pressure to migrate amid data-protection and compliance concerns tied to US-dominated cloud infrastructure.
STACKIT already processes 1,000+ daily IT services for Schwarz Gruppe
As the cloud provider for Schwarz Gruppe, STACKIT handles more than 1,000 IT services daily across the group's businesses, including Lidl, Kaufland, PreZero and Schwarz Produktion, alongside Schwarz Digits itself. The company points to this operational scale as evidence the platform can meet enterprise-grade performance demands.
Pricing matches US hyperscalers under RISE with SAP program rules
SAP's RISE with SAP program enforces price parity across all certified infrastructure providers, meaning customers choosing STACKIT pay the same transparent rate structure as those on US-based hyperscalers. Dr. Sandra Maus, Chief Growth Officer at SAP, said the addition expands choice for customers in Germany seeking to combine modern cloud ERP with strict data sovereignty and security requirements.
