Littleton, Colorado – September 18, 2026 -- Employee-owned retailer SCHEELS will open its 38th store in Littleton, Colorado in 2029, creating more than 500 new jobs before the doors open.
SCHEELS anchors new Mineral Place development alongside Costco
The flagship store is planned as an anchor retailer at the Mineral Place development, positioned along the C-470 corridor in the Denver metro area's growing Front Range region.
CEO Matt Hanson calls the store the company's deepest commitment to Colorado
"On behalf of our employee-owners, we could not be more excited to expand our footprint across Colorado's Front Range," said SCHEELS CEO Matt Hanson, adding that the store will serve as a destination bringing families together and generating hundreds of career opportunities.
Store will house more than 80 specialty shops and six dedicated service centers
The Littleton location will span over 80 specialty shops under one roof, staffed by associates trained through SCHEELS University. Premier in-store services will include golf custom fittings with launch monitor technology, a baseball and softball fitting studio with HitTrax swing analysis, an archery service shop for big-game hunting equipment, a full-service bike shop, a ski and snowboard service shop, and a fly fishing shop tailored to the South Platte River and alpine waters.
Retail lineup includes Nike, Yeti, Trek, and Titleist among leading brands
Shoppers will have access to sporting goods, outdoor gear, footwear, and apparel from brands including Nike, Vuori, UNRL, Sitka, Yeti, Trek, Titleist, and Varley.
Entertainment features include a 60-foot Ferris wheel and 16,000-gallon aquarium
Beyond retail, the store will include a signature 60-foot hubless Ferris wheel, rollerball bowling lanes, an interactive arcade, a 16,000-gallon saltwater aquarium stocked with tropical fish, a LEGO-focused toy shop, and a candy shop.
SCHEELS currently operates 34 stores across 16 states with 14,000 associates
The Littleton opening will mark SCHEELS' 38th location, continuing an expansion strategy built on employee ownership since the company's 1902 founding as a Minnesota hardware store.
