Las Vegas – October 15, 2026 -- SAFE Structure Designs, a Las Vegas-based defense engineering and manufacturing company, has partnered with Zo's Bravehearts Foundation to send three children with leukemia and their mothers to Rome, Italy.
As a major donor to the nonprofit, SAFE took part in a trip that included a meeting with the Pope and a private tour of the Vatican. The program gave the families time together outside the demands of cancer treatment.
Zo's Bravehearts Foundation provides transport, meals and home support across the Las Vegas Valley
The Las Vegas-based 501(c)(3) offers family-centered childhood cancer support. Its services include transportation assistance, meals, home support, essential supplies and family experiences. The foundation says these services ease the practical and emotional burdens of pediatric cancer.
SAFE's financial backing helps advance that mission, and its role in the Rome trip reflects the foundation's focus on creating lasting memories for families.
CEO Johnny Buscema urges Las Vegas businesses to join the donor base
Johnny Buscema, President and CEO of SAFE Structure Designs, said the company wanted to give the children and their mothers time together and the knowledge that people care about them. He framed the partnership as part of the company's commitment to its community and cited the company's Christian faith as the motivation.
SAFE is encouraging local businesses, families and individuals to learn about the foundation's work. Donations and community partnerships fund the practical assistance and emotional support that allow parents to focus on their children and treatment, according to the company. Buscema said the company hopes publicity around the trip will draw additional businesses to get involved.
The foundation is accepting donations and inquiries about partnership opportunities.
