Istanbul – September 8, 2026 -- Rönesans Holding has ranked among the world's top 50 international contractors for the 11th consecutive year, according to Engineering News-Record's 2026 "Top 250 International Contractors" list, a benchmark based on revenue earned outside a company's home market.
Rönesans has generated USD 50 billion in international project revenue since 1993
Over more than three decades of international operations, the Turkish construction group has completed over 1,000 projects in nearly 40 countries, working alongside 3,500 Turkish manufacturers and subcontractors. Rönesans first entered the ENR ranking in 2006 at 86th place before climbing into the top 50 tier.
Turkish supply chain exports exceed USD 2 billion over the past decade
Through partnerships with more than 3,500 Turkish manufacturers and subcontractors on international projects, Rönesans has procured and exported over USD 2 billion worth of goods and services in the past ten years. The company has employed 28,853 Turkish professionals internationally, including 3,500 engineers and architects, with total project workforce reaching 271,888.
Ilıcak cites adaptability through pandemic, wars and energy crisis
Dr. Erman Ilıcak, President Emeritus of Rönesans Holding, said the company navigated a pandemic, regional wars, an energy crisis and shifting financing conditions across markets spanning Europe, the Middle East, the CIS and Africa during its 11-year run in the top 50. "Eleven years is a long time to hold your ground," he said, noting the company moved into new countries and built new partnerships while maintaining consistent operating culture.
Portfolio includes Europe's tallest building and the Netherlands' longest highway tunnel
Rönesans' international project list includes the Lakhta Center, Europe's tallest building, the Gotthard Base Tunnel beneath the Swiss Alps, the Gaasperdammertunnel in the Netherlands, and a natural gas to gasoline production plant in Turkmenistan.
European acquisitions since 2009 anchor the company's regional strategy
Rönesans acquired a 10% stake in Austrian construction group PORR in 2009, followed by a subsidiary of the Alpine Bau Group in 2013, Germany's Heitkamp in 2014, and Dutch firm Ballast Nedam in 2015. Ballast Nedam returned to profitability within three years of restructuring under Rönesans ownership.
