San Antonio – October 29, 2026 -- The RK Group (RKG), a hospitality operator with 15+ integrated brands and more than 1,100 team members, is marking 80 years since it began event service on November 11, 1946. The company will observe the anniversary with a year-long series of community service and giveback initiatives.
RKG runs seven U.S. locations from its San Antonio campus
Beyond the San Antonio campus, RKG has offices in Austin and Dallas, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Louisville, Kentucky; Memphis, Tennessee; and Seattle, Washington. Its services cover event production, catering, contingency mobile programs, temporary structures, large-scale fabrication and experiential design.
Clients can buy any or all services, backed by company-owned inventory and in-house capabilities. According to the company, RKG is the oldest privately owned hospitality enterprise to offer this collaborative suite under one umbrella model.
RKG has held the Henry B. González Convention Center catering contract since 1971
RKG has been exclusive catering and concessions provider at the San Antonio venue for 55 years. CEO and President Greg Kowalski previously served as General Manager of Food and Beverage Operations there and has led RKG's development operations since 1993.
The company has replicated the model at the Renasant Convention Center and Cannon Center for the Performing Arts in Memphis, and at the Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville. Kowalski said RKG has also helped small-business partners in its markets grow their own operations.
Third-generation Kowalskis now hold key administration and planning roles
The third generation of the Kowalski family holds key positions in administration and strategic planning, supported by a long-tenured leadership team. Ahead of the anniversary, RKG opened The Rosemary Museum at its San Antonio headquarters. Built entirely in-house, including custom fabrications, displays and prints, it honors late founder Rosemary Kowalski (1924–2024) and features an interactive digital avatar.
"I literally grew up in this business," Greg Kowalski said, describing its origins in a neighborhood diner on San Antonio's West Side.
