London – September 10, 2026 -- Replit has opened its first international office outside the United States, selecting London's King's Cross Knowledge Quarter as the hub for its European operations. The agentic software creation platform, which counts more than 60 million users worldwide and reaches 85% of the Fortune 500, marked the launch with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Replit plans to double headcount and investment in the coming year
The San Francisco-based company said it expects to double its headcount and investment over the next 12 months as it scales operations with small businesses and enterprises across Europe. Founded in 2016, Replit has expanded its enterprise customer base in the region to include PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, Mercedes-Benz Group, TrustPilot and Hg, alongside existing U.S. clients such as Accenture, Visa and Zillow.
Replit partners with The Lord Mayor's Appeal to train 100 disadvantaged youth
The company will collaborate with The Lord Mayor's Appeal charity to pilot a four-week coding course for 100 young Londoners who are not in education, employment or training. The program targets disadvantaged and under-represented backgrounds, aiming to provide skills for job access.
Recent product moves include OpenAI collaboration and enterprise security investment
The London launch follows a series of announcements from Replit, including a collaboration with OpenAI on its Free Tier mode, continued investment in enterprise-grade security, and the debut of Replit Design. Amjad Masad, co-founder and CEO of Replit, said demand for the platform has been growing exponentially, prompting the company's decision to establish a European base in London.
Sadiq Khan called Replit's choice of London "a huge vote of confidence" in the city as a hub for technology and AI innovation. Kanishka Narayan, the UK's newly appointed Minister for AI, said the government would continue to welcome rapidly growing AI companies like Replit into the country's ecosystem.
