Greenville, N.C. – September 07, 2026 -- Replay Sports Cards, the first national franchise dedicated exclusively to the sports card hobby, has signed a franchise agreement with father-son duo Jim and Jake Whitehurst to open a location in Greenville, North Carolina, before the end of 2026.
Deal marks Replay's return to its home state's eastern half
Replay was founded in North Carolina and built its early presence in Charlotte before expanding nationally to a current footprint of three shops across the U.S. The Greenville agreement extends that footprint into eastern North Carolina, linking regional collector communities that Jake Whitehurst says currently lack a central hub.
Franchisee brings decades of multi-state operating experience
Jim Whitehurst is a second-generation owner of Coastal AgroBusiness, a 73-year-old, Greenville-headquartered company operating 15 locations across three states. He began his career in banking before returning to run the family business, and now pairs that operational background with his son's hobby expertise.
Jake Whitehurst entered the hobby through his father's old football card collection and began building his own in 2021, later turning the pursuit into a business.
Replay cites franchisee mix of business and hobby credentials
Mike Martin, Co-Founder of Replay Sports Cards, said the Whitehursts combine business experience with genuine passion for the hobby, criteria the company screens for in franchise partners. Martin called the North Carolina expansion particularly significant given Replay's origins in the state.
The Greenville shop will offer Replay's full-service model, including buying, selling, trading and grading, alongside the franchise's community-driven retail format.
