Rencore Extends Governance Platform to Claude, ChatGPT Enterprise

Munich – October 07, 2026 -- Rencore has extended its governance platform beyond Microsoft 365 to cover Claude Enterprise and, later this month, ChatGPT Enterprise, consolidating oversight of multiple enterprise AI tools under a single identity-anchored control plane tied to Microsoft Entra ID.

Gartner data shows two-thirds of enterprises already run multiple AI assistants alongside Copilot

Rencore's AI & Agents module now lets IT and security teams govern Microsoft 365, Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, agents and Claude Enterprise from one platform under one set of policies. Gartner research cited by Rencore, 'Microsoft 365 Copilot and Agents: Assessing Impact and Value in 2026' (doc ID 856639), found that two-thirds of organizations deploy at least two other enterprise generative AI assistants beyond Microsoft 365 Copilot, with analysts advising against single-vendor defaults. Rencore CEO Matthias Einig said at the company's launch webinar that "Copilot was maybe the plan, but multi-AI is the reality."

Claude Enterprise governance enters preview now; ChatGPT Enterprise follows in October 2026

The Claude Enterprise preview is opt-in, with Rencore's product team validating use cases alongside early customers. ChatGPT Enterprise governance is scheduled to launch later in October 2026. Customers connect each AI platform through its provider's own API, including Anthropic's Compliance API for Claude Enterprise, while Entra ID matches every AI account to a specific person via single sign-on, email or pattern matching.

Platform inventories over 400 Claude event types and 46 organization settings

For Claude Enterprise, the module tracks more than 400 event types covering users, groups, roles, projects, chats, Claude Code and Cowork sessions, artifacts, skills, connectors and plugins, plus 46 organization settings. For ChatGPT Enterprise, coverage extends to workspaces, custom GPTs, agents, service accounts, canvases, library files and per-project connectors. The system flags publicly shared artifacts, external users with AI seats, and orphaned Claude accounts that remain active after a user is deactivated in Entra ID.

Short provider audit-log retention and usage-based pricing are driving demand for independent record-keeping

Provider audit logs can be retained for as little as 30 days, leaving limited evidence for incident reviews. Microsoft shifted Copilot Cowork to pay-per-use pricing in July 2026, adding cost unpredictability. Rencore cites McKinsey's 'The State of AI in 2025: Agents, Innovation, and Transformation,' which found that while nine in ten organizations use AI, only 6% achieve significant value, attributing stalled pilots to unclear ownership and access visibility. Rencore pulls activity continuously to build a record outlasting Claude Enterprise's 30-day retention window, and supplies 35 out-of-the-box policies for ChatGPT Enterprise with automation options such as deleting a project or unpublishing an agent.

Rencore positions itself as metadata-only governance layer, not a runtime AI guardrail

The company states it reads metadata only and never accesses message bodies, session transcripts or file content, operating alongside Microsoft Purview. Rencore says the inventories support audit requirements under the EU AI Act, GDPR, NIS2 and DORA. "If you only govern Copilot, you are governing a minority of the AI your employees actually use," said CEO Matthias Einig. Tiina Rytkönen, VP of Product and Engineering, said the expansion reuses the same interface, policies, automations and access reviews customers already run for Microsoft 365, with Entra ID as the anchor.

AI & Agents module remains a paid add-on to Premium and Enterprise plans

Multi-AI governance is part of the AI & Agents module, available as an optional paid add-on on Rencore's Premium and Enterprise plans. Rencore plans to add support for Microsoft Agent 365 and Agent Builder, plus cost analysis for Copilot Cowork, by the end of 2026, with further AI services added based on customer demand.
