CHICAGO – October 29, 2026 -- RedMane Technology LLC has launched the Child Care Assistance Program statewide on South Dakota's Benefits Eligibility and Enrollment System (BEES), adding a second major benefit program to the platform operated by the state Department of Social Services (DSS).
Phased rollout ends with full public launch
The implementation was delivered in phases and ended with the public launch of the full Child Care Assistance functionality. The new capabilities are fully integrated into the cloud-based BEES platform, which lets DSS consolidate eligibility and benefit administration in a single system.
Families, providers and caseworkers get separate digital tools
Families can apply for and manage benefits through a unified citizen portal. Child care providers can submit information and interact with the program electronically. DSS staff gain case management tools intended to improve efficiency and speed access to services.
BEES extends beyond Medicaid
The child care module builds on the earlier launch and operation of BEES for Medicaid eligibility and enrollment. DSS is moving additional programs onto the platform to reduce administrative complexity and build an integrated, constituent-centered benefits system.
RedMane CEO John Murray said the launch expands the value of BEES by easing family access to services, improving the provider experience and giving agency staff modern administration tools.
