Gow brings dual credentials from journalism and music to the certification fight
Gow is an ARIA Award-winning songwriter and previously served as Head of Audio at The Australian Financial Review, where his work earned a Walkley Award. Based in Nashville, he has already begun operating across New York, Washington D.C. and Atlanta to build out the company's North American presence.

Proudly Human cited METR's time-horizon research showing AI capability roughly doubling every four months, meaning systems could be over 100 times more capable within two and a half years. CEO Trevor Woods said the pace of change leaves no time to waste, framing the mission as a global effort to protect the provenance of creators' work and give audiences the ability to choose.
Gow says AI-generated songs are already displacing human artists on streaming platforms
"Every day AI-generated songs are polluting streaming services, smothering human-created music, and stealing market share from the very people whose music it was built on," Gow said. He added that public pushback against undisclosed AI-generated material is intensifying across music venues, book clubs and social media in the United States.
Role spans policy engagement, creator visibility and industry consultation
Gow's mandate includes expanding Proudly Human's North American operations, raising visibility with creators and audiences, and consulting directly with policymakers and industry stakeholders. The Proudly Human trust mark functions similarly to Certified Organic or Fairtrade labeling, giving audiences a way to distinguish human-created work from AI-generated content.
