Toronto – October 12, 2026 -- Profound Medical Corp. (NASDAQ:PROF; TSX:PRN) has signed a co-education agreement with Telix Pharmaceuticals Limited (ASX:TLX; NASDAQ:TLX), giving it wider access to urologists in the U.S. and internationally through a strategic partner in prostate cancer imaging.
The agreement sets a framework to educate urologists, radiologists, nuclear medicine physicians and prostate cancer centers on how Telix's PSMA-targeting PET imaging agents, Gozellix and Illuccix, complement Profound's MRI-guided TULSA-PRO platform. The companies plan to cover the full prostate care continuum.
Joint program spans scientific meetings, KOL programs and clinical case studies
Planned initiatives include participation in major scientific and medical society meetings, key opinion leader programs, educational summits, speaker programs and webinars. The companies will also develop educational content, clinical case studies and best-practice materials. The stated aims are to raise awareness of PSMA-informed treatment pathways, support patient selection and treatment planning, and expand access to the TULSA Procedure.
Profound CEO and Chairman Arun Menawat said the deal could support broader market development. He added that incorporating Telix's PSMA-PET capabilities within TULSA-PRO centers could strengthen their clinical and economic value proposition and potentially improve return on investment.
Profound targets a wider TULSA-PRO patient pool through PSMA-PET staging
Profound said PSMA-PET may help physicians determine whether certain higher-risk patients remain appropriate candidates for the TULSA Procedure. The imaging can identify distant metastases or disease beyond the prostate that may not otherwise be readily detected. The company believes this could allow more precise patient stratification and potentially broaden the population considered for the procedure.
Profound develops PSMA-PET–MR image fusion for a future Treatment Delivery Console release
Profound is developing PSMA-PET–MR image-fusion capabilities for a planned future release of its Treatment Delivery Console (TDC) software. The functionality is intended to bring Telix's diagnostic PSMA-PET data into TULSA-PRO treatment planning using real-time intra-operative MR images. Profound says these images are much more precise than competitor approaches that register older diagnostic data to real-time ultrasound. The company expects the MRI and PSMA-PET combination to become an important differentiator for TULSA-PRO.
Profound Chief Technology Officer Mathieu Burtnyk cited a 2009 study in noting that approximately 85% of prostate cancers are multifocal, while approximately 15% are unifocal. He said TULSA-PRO supports ablation plans ranging from whole-gland to focal. Molecular imaging may help identify the approximately 15-25% of patients who are candidates for focal ablation, as well as certain higher-risk patients who may remain suitable for whole-gland ablation.
Kevin Richardson, CEO of Telix Precision Medicine, said the collaboration aims to increase awareness of the complementary roles of PSMA-PET imaging and MRI-guided therapy.
