Vitamin Angels Data Shows Nutrition Supplement Adherence Gaps at Scale

Goleta, Calif. – October 7, 2026 -- Vitamin Angels presented new implementation research at the 2026 Micronutrient Forum Global Conference in Accra, Ghana, revealing a sharp gap between access to maternal nutrition supplements and actual completion of recommended courses. In Makueni County, Kenya, formative research found that while 93% of pregnant women surveyed received iron and folic acid supplementation, only 17% completed the recommended 180-day course, even as 95% of pregnant women and 96% of health providers backed multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS).
