MASON, Ohio -- September 01, 2026 -- Prasco, LLC has acquired a 130,000-plus square foot distribution facility in Carey, Ohio, expanding the pharmaceutical commercialization company's automation, cold-chain and secure storage capacity beyond its existing Mason, Ohio operations. The deal, announced Aug. 31, 2026, adds a second Ohio campus for the company, which works with more than 65 brand partners and supplies medications to over 70,000 pharmacies nationwide. Prasco specializes in Authorized Generics and end-to-end commercialization services for global drug brands.
The Carey site sits inside what Prasco describes as the Midwest pharmaceutical and logistics corridor, giving the company direct highway access to CDMOs, national distribution centers and major health systems. Prasco said the location strengthens its footprint in Ohio, a state it identified as one of the most active life sciences markets in the country.
Prasco adds a controlled-substances vault to its Ohio network
The Carey facility includes a controlled-substances vault and cage alongside cold-chain and automated handling systems. These features run parallel to Prasco's existing Mason, Ohio infrastructure rather than replacing it, giving the company two operational campuses for inventory management and temperature-controlled storage. Prasco said the redundancy across both sites supports business continuity for pharmaceutical products that require secure handling.
Chris Arington ties the acquisition to U.S. supply chain resilience
Chris Arington, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Prasco, linked the purchase to the company's broader supply chain strategy. "This acquisition marks an important milestone in Prasco's continued growth and our commitment to strengthening the United States pharmaceutical supply chain," Arington said. He added that Carey's location and its pharmaceutically trained workforce were factors Prasco weighed in the decision.
Prasco links the facility to faster fulfillment for partners
Prasco framed the Carey investment as part of a strategy to grow its distribution and commercialization offerings. The company said the added capacity is meant to give brand partners and patients faster fulfillment and specialized handling for what it called life-critical therapies. Prasco's core business centers on Authorized Generic and brand pharmaceutical products distributed through its nationwide pharmacy network.
