Ping Identity Ranks Highest on Execution in Gartner CIAM Quadrant

DENVER – October 30, 2026 -- Ping Identity was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) and ranked highest among evaluated vendors on Ability to Execute.

Gartner splits CIAM into its own Magic Quadrant for 2026

The 2026 report introduces a dedicated CIAM evaluation. In 2025, Gartner assessed vendors under the broader Access Management scope. Ping Identity has been a Leader in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Access Management for the past nine years and now carries the Leader designation in the narrower CIAM category. The report is dated 28 October 2026 and was authored by Brian Guthrie, Nathan Harris, Steve Wessels and Yemi Davies.

Ping extends CIAM to verify AI agents acting for customers

Ping's CIAM offering combines identity verification, authentication, authorization, fraud prevention and journey orchestration. For what it calls the agentic era, the company added orchestration, runtime authorization and adaptive risk controls. Enterprises can use these to verify AI agents acting on customers' behalf, govern their access and detect their activity while preserving customer control.

CEO and founder Andre Durand said CIAM has become "the trust layer" for interactions among customers, businesses and AI agents. He said Ping's CIAM solutions help protect billions of accounts. Securing the agentic channel, he added, requires enterprises to establish who is acting and what each agent is authorized to do.

Ping says the next phase of customer identity extends beyond login to controlling what customers, and AI agents acting for them, can access and do.

Gartner stated that it does not endorse any vendor in its publications and does not advise technology users to select only vendors with the highest ratings. It describes its research as opinion rather than statements of fact.
