Bremen – October 28, 2026 -- OHB will acquire 25 percent of MediaMobil Communication GmbH through a capital increase, under a strategic partnership agreed between the two Bremen-based companies. The announcement does not disclose the transaction value.
OHB builds on a joint North Sea launch effort running since 2020
The two companies have worked together since 2020 on developing rocket launch solutions from the North Sea. The equity stake formalizes that relationship. OHB says the investment strengthens its satellite communications expertise and extends its portfolio along the entire value chain.
MediaMobil targets crisis communication and defense projects
MediaMobil develops and operates mobile communication and connectivity systems for demanding environments such as deserts, disaster zones and the high seas. Managing partner Andreas Nil describes the investment as a key step for the company's crisis and emergency communication business, where satellite links play a growing role.
The stake also opens access to large-scale projects and the defense sector. MediaMobil brings more than 30 years of experience in developing and operating satellite services to that work.
OHB chief Fuchs frames the deal as a Bremen satellite alliance
OHB CEO Marco Fuchs said the two companies have complementary skills in satellite communications, which he called a strategic future field, and are close geographic neighbors.
