Newk's also ranks No. 25 on Fast Casual Top 100 Movers & Shakers
Newk's was separately named No. 25 on the 2026 Fast Casual Top 100 Movers & Shakers list. The brand, founded in 2004, operates nearly 100 locations and sells sandwiches, salads, soups and pizzas.
CEO Chris Elliott links franchisee-focused investments to the ranking
Chris Elliott, CEO of Newk's Eatery and parent company FSC Franchise Co., said the company put more into franchisee training, upgraded the tools restaurant teams use daily and gave guests new reasons to return. He described fast casual as a crowded category in which guests have plenty of choices.
Elliott cited Wichita, where Newk's recently opened its second restaurant, as an example of the progress. He said the brand is seeking more experienced operators who share its commitment to scratch cooking, noting that many towns still have no Newk's.
Newk's targets faster franchise development
Newk's plans to accelerate franchise development, strengthen relationships with existing operators and bring its made-from-scratch dining model to new communities nationwide.
