Amman, Jordan – September 11, 2026 -- Mindstream Energy is developing a 245-acre Sovereign AI & Digital Infrastructure Campus at Jordan's Al-Risha natural gas field, designed to scale to 400 MW of dedicated onsite generation without drawing power from Jordan's consumer electricity grid.
Phase 1 targets 70 MW of commercial capacity by March 2027
The initial build-out is planned for 70 MW, with the broader campus engineered for modular expansion up to 400 MW as customer demand materializes. Mindstream holds a long-term contract for the site's natural gas resource, with power generated onsite rather than sourced from the national grid.
Closed-loop cooling and remote siting bypass land and water constraints
The desert campus avoids competing with residential communities for land, while closed-loop cooling reduces water dependency—two of the bottlenecks slowing data center approvals in the U.S. and Europe. Mindstream cites grid capacity limits, consumer electricity costs, water use, land constraints, permitting timelines, and community opposition as the core obstacles its model is built to sidestep.
