Riyadh – September 18, 2026 -- MemryX and Lenovo have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand sovereign edge AI deployments across Saudi Arabia, building on joint platforms already running in the Kingdom's infrastructure and industrial sectors.
Joint hardware platform already processes data at construction and port sites
The collaboration pairs the Lenovo ThinkEdge SE455 V3 rugged edge server with the MemryX Cascade 100P AI accelerator to process video and sensor data on site, reducing latency and dependence on centralized, power-intensive data-center infrastructure. One live deployment runs real-time construction safety analytics, including personal protective equipment compliance and site safety event detection. A second deployment operates inside a port environment, running compliance and monitoring workloads across the operator's existing camera infrastructure without disrupting operations.
MOU sets framework for infrastructure, smart-city and rack-scale expansion
The agreement establishes a structure for the two companies to pursue additional opportunities across infrastructure, industrial operations, smart cities and video management. It includes plans to validate the platform through a Lenovo Center of Excellence and to develop further solutions via Lenovo AI Innovation. The companies also intend to explore rack-scale server configurations for computer vision inference, aligned with a hybrid edge-to-cloud strategy targeting regional and global go-to-market opportunities.
Executives tie the deployments to Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 data-sovereignty goals
MemryX CEO Ross Jatou said the partnership shows how quickly the company's technology can move from evaluation into demanding, real-world deployments, adding that the platform is built to scale from Saudi Arabia to global markets. Lenovo Saudi Arabia Vice President and General Manager Salman Faqeeh said organizations across the Kingdom are shifting from AI experimentation to operational adoption, citing existing customer gains in safety and efficiency as evidence the deployments are not a future concept but active operations.
