Martis Capital Makes Inc. Founder-Friendly List for Sixth Straight Year

Washington – October 29, 2026 -- Martis Capital, a private equity firm focused exclusively on middle-market healthcare, has been named to Inc.'s 2026 Founder-Friendly Investors list for the sixth consecutive year.

Martis is one of 14 healthcare-exclusive firms among 294 honorees

Inc. recognized 294 private equity firms, venture capital firms and lenders this year. Martis was one of only 14 healthcare-exclusive private equity firms on the list.

Inc. built the list from founder questionnaires

Inc. surveyed entrepreneurs who have sold to private equity and venture capital firms. Founders completed questionnaires on their experience partnering with private equity, venture capital and debt firms. They also shared data on how their companies performed during those partnerships.

Martis has raised more than $2.2 billion since 2011

Martis operates from Washington, San Francisco and Miami. Since its 2011 founding, it has raised more than $2.2 billion from a global base of institutional clients to invest in middle-market North American healthcare.

Managing Partner Mario Moreno said healthcare's regulatory, clinical and operational complexity requires investors who understand the sector and remain engaged. He tied the six-year streak to relationships with founders.

Portfolio CEO credits strategic guidance and access

Frank Burrell, CEO of Deerfield Group, a healthcare and life sciences marketing and communications firm backed by funds advised by Martis, said the firm provided strategic guidance, introductions and trust in management. Burrell is not a Martis client or fund investor and received no compensation for his statement.

Disclosures: Martis paid a fee to be considered

Inc. granted the recognition on August 13, 2026, based on a 12-month evaluation period. Martis paid a fee to be considered for the award and for using and distributing the recognition. The firm said it had no influence over Inc.'s criteria or results.
