Lunit Teams With Discovery Life Sciences on AI Pathology for Biopharma

Seoul – October 12, 2026 -- Lunit (KRX: 328130) has partnered with Discovery Life Sciences, a lab that supports more than 350 active clinical trial programs, to roll out the Lunit SCOPE suite across biopharmaceutical research.

The AI-powered pathology platform will run inside Discovery's biomarker and tissue analysis workflows. Both companies will tailor it to each client program's design, working directly with pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers.

Discovery brings 25 years of assay experience and 2,000 trial programs to the deal

Discovery has delivered biomarker services for more than 2,000 clinical trial programs. Its specialty laboratory services cover the drug development lifecycle end to end. The partners expect the combination of Discovery's global biospecimen network and Lunit's AI image analysis to broaden worldwide access to the SCOPE platform.

Single-lab workflow targets reproducibility in tissue data

Biopharma partners get SCOPE inside Discovery's tissue workflows, from specimen sourcing through molecular pathology to quantitative readout. All steps take place in Discovery's own laboratories. Anna Juncker-Jensen, PhD, Vice President of Scientific Affairs at Discovery, said that controlling sourcing, tissue processing and pathology in-house lets the company apply SCOPE to reliably prepared samples.

The companies aim to deliver standardized, quantitative tissue insights for clinical research, translational studies and drug development. They also plan to expand AI-enabled tissue analysis services intended to improve reproducibility and speed evidence generation across the development process.

Lunit CEO Brandon Suh targets more biopharma researchers worldwide

Suh said biopharmaceutical companies increasingly seek quantitative and reproducible biomarkers to guide drug development. Lunit aims to bring SCOPE to more researchers globally through the collaboration.

Lunit's Yoojoo Lim joins Discovery's B4 Tour panel on October 14

Lunit will take part in Discovery's Bridging Biomarker Breakthroughs to Bedsides (B4 Tour) on October 14 in South San Francisco. Yoojoo Lim, Medical Director at Lunit Oncology, will speak in an expert session and join the panel "AI in Biomarkers: What's Working, What's Next."
