LG CNS Unveils Pharma Smart Factory AI Suite at CPHI Milan 2026

Milan – October 07, 2026 -- LG CNS is showcasing a pharma-specific manufacturing automation suite at CPHI Milan 2026, the world's largest pharmaceutical and biotech trade show, as the Korean AI transformation firm expands into drug-manufacturing technology. The company is the only Korean participant in CPHI's newly created "AI & Tech" zone this year, presenting its booth under the theme "Autonomous Factory in Pharma."

CPHI Milan draws 60,000 visitors and 3,000 exhibitors from 160 countries

The Milan event is CPHI's flagship show, held annually across global venues including the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, and is considered the premier gathering for pharma and biotech manufacturing technology.

LG CNS links factory design, production operations and quality management into one pipeline

The company's booth centers on three connected solutions covering the full lifecycle of pharmaceutical plant development. Factova Worldworks, a digital twin-based virtual validation simulator, recreates factories in 3D to optimize equipment placement, worker routes and raw material transfer paths -- critical in pharma plants where cleanroom and production zones require strict separation and differentiated worker access permissions.

Factova Control standardizes process data such as raw material IDs and formulations into unified formats across manufacturing steps, enabling faster response when equipment or workflows change. The solution applies AI to real-time current, temperature and vibration data to detect equipment anomalies and predict failures before they occur.

AI automation cuts annual quality review time by more than 90%

LG CNS's quality management solution analyzes production volume, raw material temperature shifts and equipment history to flag quality issues, calculating and applying corrective alternatives mid-process to prevent defective output. An AI agent trained on quality data now drafts the Annual Product Quality Review (APQR) required for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance -- a task previously taking staff months to complete manually, now automated with a reported time reduction exceeding 90%.

LG CNS positions itself as a turnkey provider for high-precision pharma manufacturing

"The manufacturing AX solutions we are showcasing at this exhibition are tailored to pharma so we can support our pharma and biotech customers with intelligent automation across the entire process, from factory design to quality management," said Eddie Jang, Head of the Chemical/Battery Division at LG CNS. He added that the company will continue applying its solutions to help customers meet the precision and quality demands of pharmaceutical manufacturing sites.
