LawnPop Installs 4,800 Sq Ft True Putt Green at Austin Home

Austin – October 31, 2026 -- LawnPop has installed 4,800 square feet of Synthetic Grass Warehouse's TigerTurf True Putt at a residence in Austin, Texas, built to roll at 11.5 to 12 on the stimp.

True Putt specifications target PGA-level ball control

True Putt uses a field green slit-film polypropylene blade with a 1-inch pile height. Face weight is 35 ounces, and total weight is 62 ounces per square yard. A K29 triple-layered, non-expansive backing is specified for seam strength and stability. The product is manufactured with UV inhibitors, is non-toxic and lead-free.

Clients required approach-shot performance from 20 to 140 yards

The homeowners are country club members who wanted a green that accepts approach shots from 20 to 140 yards and lets the ball check up as it would on natural turf. LawnPop owner Angie Shepard said she recommended True Putt for the professional outcome it provides, so that it acts like a true green.

Poolside siting required more than 10 feet of backfill

The clients specified a location next to their pool. To reach the layout height, LawnPop brought in more than 10 feet of backfill and built a custom steel retaining wall.

Water restrictions drive Texas demand for synthetic greens

The source cites Texas weather swings from scorching summers to freezing winters as a constraint on natural grass. Homeowners are turning to synthetic surfaces for year-round playability with lower maintenance and water use.

LawnPop was founded in 2010 by co-owners Angie and Tanner Shepard to serve Texas families facing droughts and water restrictions. The company now has 16 years in business and is known for luxury golf greens with handcrafted artificial white turf bunkers. It also offers custom steel and stone work, and architects, landscape architects and high-end custom builders are among its clients.

Synthetic Grass Warehouse named LawnPop its Install of the Month winner for September 2026.
