KuCoin Debuts KCUSD Stablecoin Yield Product With Up to 6% APR

Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – – September 09, 2026 -- KuCoin has launched KCUSD, a new Earn product offering daily yields backed by real-world assets, aiming to convert idle stablecoin balances into productive capital for retail, high-net-worth and institutional users.

KCUSD offers a dynamic base APR of up to 4%, with promotional rates reaching 6%

Users can subscribe with as little as 1 USDT, USDC or USDG, with no subscription fee and same-asset redemption options. Returns are credited daily and automatically compound into users' KCUSD balances without manual reinvestment. Eligible users depositing qualifying new funds during the initial launch period can access a promotional APR of up to 6%.

KuCoin targets the capital inefficiency of idle stablecoin reserves held for margin

The company says large stablecoin balances often sit idle in trading accounts to meet margin requirements or capture time-sensitive opportunities, a challenge particularly acute for institutions, market makers and professional trading firms. Allocating these funds to standalone staking or Earn products typically interrupts their trading utility, while keeping them liquid forgoes potential yield. KCUSD's hold-to-earn model is designed to let users earn returns without sacrificing access to trading capital.

KuCoin plans to expand KCUSD into a collateral and margin instrument

Beyond its current yield function, KuCoin intends to integrate KCUSD as margin collateral, positioning it as an infrastructure layer connecting liquidity, asset productivity and risk management across its ecosystem. "Our long-term view is that yield, liquidity and risk utility should not remain in separate silos," said BC Wong, CEO of KuCoin, adding that KCUSD is designed to evolve toward broader trading utility as digital markets increasingly operate on a 24/7 basis.
