Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands – September 03, 2026 -- KuCoin has partnered with FinChain to integrate the yield-bearing stablecoin FUSD into its RWA Collateral Mirroring Solution (RCMS), allowing institutional clients to use custodied real-world assets as trading collateral without selling or transferring them to the exchange.
RCMS lets institutions map custodied FUSD value directly to KuCoin trading accounts
Under the arrangement, FUSD's eligible collateral value is assessed within a designated custody framework and mapped to relevant KuCoin trading accounts under platform rules. Institutional users retain existing custody and yield arrangements while tapping KuCoin's liquidity, trade execution, risk controls and position management to deploy capital.
FUSD is backed by money market funds and highly rated government bonds
FinChain's FUSD draws its backing from money market funds and highly rated government bonds, positioning it to function simultaneously as a yield-bearing asset and trading collateral. The structure is designed to reduce the trade-off institutions face between earning yield on RWA holdings and accessing trading liquidity.
Partnership expands KuCoin's roster of yield-bearing RWA collateral assets
The deal extends the range of RWA assets eligible for RCMS and reinforces KuCoin's positioning as both a trading venue and institutional market infrastructure provider. FinChain supplies FUSD and its underlying asset backing, while KuCoin contributes RCMS, platform liquidity, trade execution and risk management—creating what the companies describe as a complete process from RWA holding and custody through to collateralization and trading.
Executives frame the tie-up as a shift from asset issuance to scenario-based use
Tika Lum, KuCoin's Head of Global Business Development for VIP & Institutional Business, said tokenized assets must be usable within prudent risk management frameworks, not merely issued and held, for them to become integral to market infrastructure. FinChain CEO Chen Zhao said the collaboration marks a pivotal step for FUSD moving from asset issuance toward scenario-based application, converting underlying asset backing into usable collateral value while preserving yield-bearing performance.
Both firms plan further work on collateral eligibility and offshore expansion
Going forward, KuCoin and FinChain will continue collaborating on collateral eligibility assessment, custody connectivity, risk parameters and offshore market expansion for FUSD, aiming to expand its use across offshore digital asset markets.
