Nieuwegein, Netherlands – October 06, 2026 -- Konica Minolta, Inc. has launched SpectraMagicTM CMS, a colour matching software platform aimed at cutting material waste and manual trial-and-error in colour formulation for plastics, paints and coatings manufacturers worldwide.
Software combines formulation and batch correction in a single platform
SpectraMagicTM CMS merges colour formulation and batch correction tools into one system, targeting faster first-shot accuracy for manufacturers in colour-critical industries. The platform uses advanced matching algorithms, simultaneous colour and opacity calculations, and batch correction driven by real pigment performance data drawn from laboratory and production samples.
Integration links measurement hardware to formulation and reporting
The software connects directly with Konica Minolta's spectrophotometers and its existing SpectraMagicTM NX2 quality control software, creating a single workflow spanning measurement, quality control, formulation and reporting. Konica Minolta positions this integration as a way to help manufacturers maintain colour consistency across multiple batches, production lines and manufacturing sites.
Company backs rollout with dedicated support network
Konica Minolta is pairing the software launch with access to its Colour Help Desk and a global network of application specialists, intended to support customers through implementation and ongoing colour management. The company describes computer colour matching technology as central to its strategy in the broader colour measurement market, aiming to help customers reduce costs and improve operational performance in formulation processes.
