Kibar Americas Opens Aluminum Plant in Fairmont, W.Va.

Fairmont, W.Va. – September 18, 2026 -- Kibar Americas has begun production at a newly opened aluminum manufacturing facility in Fairmont, West Virginia, marking the Chicago-headquartered company's first domestic manufacturing footprint after acquiring the site earlier this year.

Fairmont plant starts output for HVAC, packaging, automotive and industrial sectors

The facility, celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by government officials, customers, suppliers and community leaders, is now producing aluminum products across four end markets: HVAC, packaging, automotive and industrial applications.

Executives frame Fairmont as anchor for North American manufacturing expansion

"Today represents an important milestone for Kibar Americas," said Derek Keddy, President of the North America Rolling Business Unit at Kibar Americas. "We are proud to become part of the Fairmont community and establish a manufacturing presence that will allow us to serve our customers more effectively while creating long-term value for our employees, business partners, and the region."

Atilla Çetinel, COO of Kibar Americas, said the investment adds local manufacturing capability to the company's existing commercial and distribution network in North America, positioning the firm to respond faster to customer demand.

Assan Alüminyum ties North American output to European R&D and sustainability base

Göksal Güngör, Managing Director of Assan Alüminyum Group, said the Fairmont facility diversifies the group's manufacturing footprint and links North American production capacity with the group's established European production, R&D and sustainability capabilities, creating what he described as a more balanced global platform.

Kibar Americas said it plans further expansion of Fairmont operations as part of a longer-term strategy to build out its position as an aluminum foil producer serving North American customers.
