Kansas City – September 17, 2026 -- KanEquip, Inc. has opened its first dealership dedicated exclusively to JCB equipment in Kansas City, expanding its footprint beyond the six existing Kansas locations that carry the brand.

KanEquip enters Kansas City after Trane's acquisition of CSTK creates market opening

The sale of Central States Thermo King (CSTK) to Trane, Inc. left a gap in local JCB support in Kansas City, which KanEquip moved to fill. The company said retaining CSTK's experienced staff, some employed since 2014, was the primary driver behind the market entry, citing their established knowledge of JCB equipment and rental-house customer relationships.

JCB has grown into KanEquip's second-largest brand since 2019

KanEquip's partnership with JCB began in 2019 around wheel loaders and telehandlers before expanding into a full equipment line. JCB now ranks as KanEquip's second-largest brand after CNH Industrial's Case IH and New Holland products. In 2025, JCB recognized KanEquip as one of the three largest Fastrac dealers worldwide.

New location adds sales, parts and service capacity for Kansas City customers

The Kansas City dealership will provide equipment sales, parts and service support, backed by the resources of KanEquip's broader dealer network across Kansas. Grant Meinhardt, Vice President/General Manager of KanEquip JCB, said the company retained a number of former CSTK employees during the transition.

Family-run dealer group traces roots to 1999 merger

KanEquip, Inc. formed in 1999 from a merger of family-named dealerships across Kansas and Nebraska, building on Meinhardt Farm Equipment, founded in Wamego, Kansas in 1967. Founder Jim Meinhardt's sons, Bryndon and Grant Meinhardt, acquired majority ownership in 2019 and have since expanded the company's brand portfolio and geographic reach.
