Northbrook, Illinois – September 05, 2026 -- Kalohexis, Inc. has appointed Garry Menzel, Ph.D., to its Board of Directors, adding an executive who raised more than $500 million while leading oncology company TCR2 Therapeutics before its 2023 merger with Adaptimmune.
Menzel brings deal experience spanning $100 billion in biotech transactions
Menzel currently serves as an Operating Partner at Global Healthcare Opportunities (GHO) Capital, a European healthcare-focused private equity firm. He previously worked as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse, where he led global biotechnology franchises and worked on transactions totaling more than $100 billion, including IPOs and M&A deals.
His executive track record also includes serving as Chief Financial Officer of Fortune 500 company DaVita HealthCare Partners and as Chief Operating Officer of Regulus Therapeutics, which was acquired by Novartis for $1.7 billion. He co-founded Black Diamond Therapeutics, a Fierce 15-winning precision oncology company, where he remains on the board and chairs the Audit Committee. Menzel also previously served on the board of Stoke Therapeutics.
Kalohexis advances melanocortin pipeline targeting obesity and cancer cachexia
Kalohexis, spun out of Endevica Bio in March 2026, is developing therapeutic peptides that target melanocortin-3 and -4 receptors (MC3R/MC4R) to treat metabolic disorders. Its lead program, 710GO, is an oral dual MC3R/MC4R agonist designed to induce weight loss in general obesity while avoiding the lean muscle mass loss and weight rebound associated with incretin-based therapies.
The company's second pipeline candidate, mifomelatide, is a dual MC3R/MC4R antagonist targeting cachexia in patients with advanced cancers, a condition for which no FDA-approved treatments currently exist.
CEO Russell Potterfield said Menzel has proven adept at integrating with different teams to produce therapies, calling him a seasoned executive with a strong track record advising and leading life sciences companies.
