The adjustable device allows users to measure two distances at once, cutting the time needed to create consistent square openings for vertical members. The inventor, from La Mirada, Calif., said the design targets builders who need a fast and accurate way to install vertical members where a uniform square opening or space is required.
Design targets construction professionals and DIY market
The tool's adjustable format is intended for use by construction builders, architects, window companies and do-it-yourself consumers. By standardizing opening dimensions, the device aims to reduce measurement errors that can cause fitting problems with doors and windows during construction.
Invention now open for licensing through InventHelp
The original design was submitted to the Orange County sales office of InventHelp, a Pittsburgh-based invention-submission company. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers and marketers under submission number 25-OCC-1820.
