France – October 27, 2026 -- Integris and TR Equipment have delivered a maritime ballistic protection system for ship gunners to the Marine Nationale, the French Navy, with 360-degree shielding and protection up to STANAG Level 2.
System scales beyond Level 2 for higher-threat missions
The system is built from lightweight composite armour and a modular design that can be configured for specific missions. It covers weapon stations, torso and lower body. Configurations for higher threat levels are available as options.
The developers say it is designed for coastal patrol, naval security operations and expeditionary missions, and protects against ballistic threats and fragmentation while preserving the gunner's situational awareness.
Rapid installation targets minimal vessel downtime
Integris and TR Equipment say the system can be installed quickly across multiple vessel types, which limits the time a ship is out of service. TR Equipment contributed defence system integration, maritime platform adaptation, mechanical engineering and rapid prototyping.
Valérie Orhan, Sales Manager France at Integris, said the system reflects the company's experience in lightweight, high-performance armour design.
French Navy seeks adaptable protection against asymmetric threats
The Marine Nationale operates globally across maritime security, defence and force projection missions. The companies position the delivery as a response to its need for adaptable naval protection in asymmetric threat environments. Cécile Edelin, Tenders and Europe Manager at TR Equipment, said the collaboration produced a system meeting the evolving needs of modern defence forces.
