I-CAR Adds Diagnostics, Blueprinting Courses for SEMA 2026 Show

Hoffman Estates, Ill. – October 07, 2026 -- I-CAR will debut three new training courses and an ADAS-equipped display vehicle at the 2026 SEMA Show, expanding its push to equip collision repair professionals for increasingly sensor-dependent vehicles.

I-CAR launches three new courses covering diagnostics, blueprinting and glue pull repair

The nonprofit education organization is adding Introduction to Diagnostics and Scan Tools, Understanding the Blueprinting Process, and Glue Pull Repair (GPR) to its 2026 SEMA lineup, held in classrooms S224 and S225. Returning courses include Requirements and Considerations for ADAS Calibration, GMA/MIG Welding Basics and GMA/MIG Welding Advanced Features. Attendees who complete both sessions in a paired bundle and pass the post-course test earn two I-CAR course credits toward annual training requirements.

Live welding demonstrations return to the SEMA show floor with hands-on instructor guidance

Attendees who take GMA/MIG Welding courses can apply classroom techniques directly on the show floor under the supervision of an I-CAR welding expert, continuing a format introduced in prior years.

I-CAR display vehicle maps ADAS sensors to highlight growing calibration complexity

Positioned near the SEMA Collision Repair Stage (#32145), the vehicle identifies ADAS sensor locations across the body to illustrate how pervasive the technology has become in current makes and models. I-CAR designed the display to prompt discussion on vehicle-specific calibration requirements and the technical knowledge needed to identify systems affected by repair work.

I-CAR extends ADAS and calibration engagement to AAPEX booth V7308

Beyond SEMA, I-CAR experts will continue ADAS and calibration discussions with the broader repair community at AAPEX, addressing how deeper integration of these systems throughout vehicles affects repair procedures across the supply chain.

I-CAR booth 33139 to address workforce development and Gold Class recognition

At its main SEMA booth in Upper South Hall, I-CAR will meet with shop owners and industry professionals on workforce development solutions and the long-term value of Gold Class and Platinum recognition programs. "There's more to know in collision repair than ever before, and the stakes are high because ultimately this work is about driver and passenger safety," said Kyle Thompson, CEO and President of I-CAR.
