Gurnee, Ill. – October 21, 2026 -- Adams Elevator called its NAEC booth the most talked-about it has run at the show after deploying SKYE, a humanoid robot supplied by Metropolis Robotics, the sister company of exhibit builder 3DL Design.
Adams Elevator co-brands SKYE as part of its booth identity
The activation was the idea of Molly Cruz, National Sales and Process Manager at Adams Elevator. Adams co-branded the robot so that it became part of the booth's identity rather than a standalone attraction. The move extends Cruz's record of bringing new booth technology to NAEC.
SKYE also walked the show aisles carrying Adams-branded first aid kits and invited attendees to take one. Visitors stopped to photograph the robot and left with a branded giveaway.
Cruz said attendees lined up to meet SKYE, took photos and returned with colleagues. In her words, it was "the most talked-about booth we've had at NAEC."
Metropolis Robotics books SKYE into pharma and manufacturing events
The NAEC appearance follows SKYE activations at the 2026 National Restaurant Association Show and the 2026 Wisconsin State Fair. One week after NAEC, Metropolis Robotics partnered with Cognizant's Life Sciences consulting team to bring SKYE to a corporate town hall for a Fortune 500 pharmaceutical leader. The event took place at The Westin Chicago North Shore in Wheeling, Ill.
Metropolis Robotics will next demonstrate SKYE at IMEC's NextGen Manufacturing AI Summit on Nov. 12, 2026, in Downers Grove, Ill.
Metropolis Robotics founder Randy Harju said the NAEC deployment introduced SKYE to the elevator industry.
