Hong Kong Electronics Shows See 25% Buyer Surge Ahead of Oct 2026 Edition

HONG KONG – September 04, 2026 -- Global professional buyer pre-registration for the October 2026 Global Sources Hong Kong Shows is running 25% ahead of the same period last year, with North America and Europe driving the sharpest gains, organizers said.

Over 4,200 suppliers to fill 8,000 booths across two phases

The event runs October 11-21 at AsiaWorld-Expo under the theme "Connecting Global Innovation, Enabling Sustainable Sourcing." More than 4,200 Asia-based suppliers will occupy over 8,000 booths, presenting upwards of 330,000 new products spanning consumer electronics, gaming, mobile electronics, smart home, security & appliances, lifestyle electronics, and sports & outdoor. John Kao, Vice President of Global Sources Hong Kong and Overseas Shows, said the format lets buyers validate trends, inspect samples, place orders and secure suppliers in a single visit.

Phase 1 targets hybrid desk demand amid tightening EU battery rules

Phase 1 (October 11-14) gathers over 2,100 exhibitors across 4,000-plus booths in PC peripherals, gaming peripherals, audio-video, car electronics, and battery & power products. Mordor Intelligence values the global hybrid work hardware market at $28.5 billion in 2025, projecting growth to $52.4 billion by 2031. The show will field over 1,600 PC accessory booths and nearly 500 gaming peripheral booths, with brands including CE-LINK, RXGAMER, Brateck, Havit, AULA, MCHOSE, ATK, TITAN and Huntkey. Under the EU's Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542), certain battery products must carry a Digital Product Passport disclosing roughly 90 data points—covering carbon footprint, recycled content and supply chain traceability—starting February 18, 2027. Broader Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation requirements for electronics will follow in phases. The Phase 1 power supply zone will feature suppliers that have already achieved DPP compliance, allowing buyers to factor certification status into vendor scorecards on-site.

Phase 2 pushes AI from prototype to mass production, with Tencent debuting

Phase 2 (October 18-21) brings over 2,100 suppliers across 4,000-plus booths in mobile electronics, smart home, security & appliances, lifestyle electronics and sports & outdoor. The AI+ Theme Zone spans over 1,200 booths across seven segments, including AI terminal devices, wearables, glasses, toys, pet products and personal health devices. Tencent AI will make its show debut, presenting agent software including WorkBuddy, QClaw and Marvis, alongside hardware such as RoboticX robots. An AI Agent Summit will feature Tencent's Chief Scientist, the Chair of the Tencent Open Source Alliance, and representatives from the Linux Foundation and OpenClaw Foundation. A new Taiwan, China AI Supply Chain Pavilion, developed with TEEMA, will showcase AI modules, components and OEM manufacturing from the region.

Circular economy pavilion targets $225.7-million-unit used-phone market

IDC data cited by organizers puts 2024 global used-smartphone shipments at 225.7 million units, with a projected 4.9% compound annual growth rate through 2029. To address gaps in compliant resale and recycling infrastructure, the show has partnered with the Hong Kong International Communications Electronics Commerce Association to launch the Global Mobile Communications & Electronics Trade Pavilion. Participants include Zhuan Zhuan, Aihuishou, US Mobile Phones Inc., Belong Inc. and ecoATM LLC, offering tested and certified used phones meeting EU WEEE recycling standards alongside compliance review and supplier screening on-site.
