GCCL, LabConnect Sign MOU to Link APAC and North American Trial Labs

Seoul – October 12, 2026 -- South Korea's GCCL and LabConnect signed a memorandum of understanding on October 12 to link their North American and Asia-Pacific (APAC) central laboratory capabilities for joint sales and project execution in global clinical trials.

Partners formalize a relationship spanning more than 20 years

The agreement builds on a collaboration that has run for more than 20 years. It aims to improve the operational efficiency of global trial projects by combining each company's regional expertise. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The signing took place at GCCL's headquarters. GCCL CEO Kwan-goo Cho attended, as did LabConnect's Jeff Mayhew, Founder and Strategic Commercial Advisor, and Joshua Gentile, Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial Sales and Marketing.

Four initiatives cover sales, services, project management and marketing
  • Identifying potential clients and supporting sales in each region
  • Integrating global clinical trials and central laboratory services
  • Cooperating on project management and client communications
  • Formulating joint marketing strategies and identifying new business opportunities
GCCL and LabConnect plan shared systems for client responses and project management

The companies intend to establish a mutual collaboration framework built on their regional strengths and partner relationships. They also plan to run joint sales and marketing initiatives and to set up shared systems and processes for client responses and project management.

Mayhew said the pairing of GCCL's laboratory and logistics strength with LabConnect's global alliance of clinical and specialty laboratories, plus proactive sample logistics oversight, gives sponsors "a more coordinated path for multi-regional studies." He expects the tie-up to simplify and orchestrate complex studies in South Korea and the broader APAC region.

Cho described the MOU as the starting point for connecting GCCL's APAC execution capabilities with LabConnect's global laboratory alliance. He said GCCL is committed to building a practical framework spanning joint sales, project execution and client management.
