GAC's August Exports Jump 177% as Africa Sales Surge 881%

Guangzhou – September 11, 2026 -- GAC exported 26,978 units in August, a 177% year-over-year increase, extending a run of triple-digit growth across its international markets.

Cumulative exports approach 600,000 units since GAC's overseas push began

Exports from January through August totaled 172,008 units, up 136% from the same period last year. The automaker's total export volume to date is nearing 600,000 units.

Africa emerges as GAC's fastest-growing region with an 881% sales jump

Retail sales in Africa rose 881% year-over-year in August, making the continent GAC's top-performing international market. The company signed a local production agreement with Jameel Motors in Egypt and entered Ghana, launching the S7, GS8 and AION V models there.

GAC ranking hits fifth among all passenger brands in Uruguay in July

In the Americas, retail sales grew 93% year-over-year in August. GAC reached fifth place among all passenger-vehicle brands in Uruguay in July, capturing a 6.0% monthly market share and ranking third among pure-EV brands. Philippines sales soar 283% as Southeast Asia expansion continues

Southeast Asian retail sales climbed 24% year-over-year in August, led by a 283% jump in the Philippines. Singapore sales rose 89%, Thailand 27% and Indonesia 24%. In Hong Kong, the GAC E9 was the top-selling luxury MPV in July, with cumulative January-July sales ranking second among Chinese brands and third overall in the market.

GAC unveils XT80 off-road model as Middle East user base tops 100,000

GAC has built a customer base of more than 100,000 users in the Middle East. On August 28, the company launched the XT80, its first off-road vehicle, alongside the GS7 PHEV overseas; the GS7 PHEV is scheduled for a regional launch in September.

European retail sales rise 93% as UK, Portugal and Poland post gains

European retail sales increased 93% month-over-month in August, with the UK up 89%, Portugal up 167% and Poland up 33%. Greece ranked second in pure-EV sales during the month, continuing to expand its market share.
