HONG KONG – November 06, 2026 -- Fosun International received the "ESG & Corporate Sustainability Excellence Award" from Hong Kong Economic Journal (HKEJ) on 5 November 2026, after its MSCI ESG Rating was raised to the highest tier, AAA.
HKEJ presented the award at its "ESG & Sustainability Awards of Excellence 2026" ceremony. Other recipients included Henderson Land Development, China Overseas Land & Investment, FWD Life Insurance, Bank of China (Hong Kong) and China Minsheng Bank Hong Kong Branch. HKEJ linked the awards to the Hong Kong government's first Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development (2026-2030), which sets green development and environmental protection targets.
Fosun lifts ratings across MSCI, Hang Seng and S&P indices
Fosun's Hang Seng Sustainability Rating rose from AA- to AA+. The group is a constituent of the Hang Seng Corporate Sustainability Benchmark Index for the seventh consecutive year and is also in the Hang Seng ESG 50 Index. It was included in the S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 and ranked in the Top 1% of the China Edition for the third straight year.
Its FTSE Russell ESG score has stayed above the global industry average, and it has remained in the FTSE4Good Index Series for five consecutive years.
Fosun targets carbon peak by 2028 and neutrality by 2050
Fosun pledged in 2021 to peak carbon emissions by 2028 and reach carbon neutrality by 2050. Its climate strategies are aligned with the Paris Agreement's 1.5°C target. In April 2026, the group published its fourth Climate Information Disclosures Report, aligned with TCFD recommendations and IFRS S2 requirements.
Fosun cites oncology, CAR-T and robotics approvals as social impact
HKEJ's recognition drew on Fosun's healthcare portfolio. HANSIZHUANG is the world's first and only anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody approved for perioperative treatment of gastric cancer. HLX43, a PD-L1 antibody-drug conjugate, has enrolled more than 1,500 patients globally across multiple solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer. FUMAINING (luvoxmetinib tablets) won approval for pediatric and adolescent patients with relapsed or refractory Langerhans cell histiocytosis.
Yi Kai Da, China's first CAR-T cell therapy product, has treated more than 1,500 patients. The marketing application for Fosun's second CAR-T product, brexucabtagene autoleucel, has been accepted for review. The first da Vinci 5 surgical system in Hong Kong SAR has entered the National Medical Products Administration's Special Review Procedure for Innovative Medical Devices, and the Ion Robotic Bronchoscopy system has been approved for launch in the Chinese mainland.
As of 30 June 2026, Fosun Pharma had supplied more than 460 million vials of artesunate for injection worldwide, treating more than 92 million patients with severe malaria.
Fosun Foundation's rural doctors program reaches 3 million families
Fosun Foundation, established in 2012, has run its Rural Doctors Program since late 2017. The program covers 78 counties in 16 provinces, cities and autonomous regions, supporting 25,000 rural doctors and benefiting 3 million rural families.
The Protechting Open Innovation Program, launched in early 2016 with Fidelidade and Luz Saúde, gained Peruvian insurer La Positiva as a partner in 2026. On 16 September, the first China roadshow stop of Protechting 8.0 was held at Hong Kong Science Park, with ten teams from Portugal, Denmark, Brazil and other countries, the highest count since the program began. Protechting has engaged young entrepreneurs from more than 50 countries and regions and helped incubate more than 50 pilot projects.
