Sydney – October 06, 2026 -- First Graphene Limited has secured its first purchase order from US-based Flux Footwear, marking the Australian graphene producer's maiden commercial entry into the global sports shoe market, valued at more than US$150 billion.
Flux Footwear becomes third client to adopt PureGRAPH in growing footwear portfolio
Flux will incorporate First Graphene's PureGRAPH into its athletic and leisure footwear line, targeting strength and durability upgrades for the brand's Graphene XT performance gym shoes. PureGRAPH will progressively replace Flux's existing graphene formulations as production volumes increase, following recent joint development work between the two companies.
Order extends First Graphene's reach from safety boots into performance athletics
The Flux agreement builds on First Graphene's prior commercial production wins in work and safety footwear, including partnerships with Australian manufacturer Steel Blue and Indonesian mining boot producer PT Alasmas Berkat Utama. Those applications focused on improving abrasion resistance, tear strength and durability before advancing to commercial production.
Graphene is applied to high-wear zones of Flux's outsoles to boost durability, abrasion and tear resistance, and grip without adding weight. Flux already markets a Graphene-Pro footwear range and sells primarily into the US market, giving First Graphene a direct channel into American demand.
Company says order is not financially material but validates commercialisation model
First Graphene stated the initial order itself is not financially material, but it demonstrates the company's ability to transfer an established PureGRAPH application into a new customer, product category and geographic market. The global sports shoe market is projected to exceed US$212 billion by 2035, driven by rising demand for more durable and longer-lasting footwear.
Chief Executive Michael Bell said the Flux order delivers a new revenue stream and strengthens the company's US market presence, calling the progression from development to production order "exactly what First Graphene is focused on delivering from our commercial strategy."
