Delray Beach, Fla. – September 08, 2026 -- The global fire-resistant glass market is projected to expand from USD 11.65 billion in 2026 to USD 18.09 billion by 2031, a compound annual growth rate of 9.2%, according to new research from MarketsandMarkets.
Building and construction absorbs 83.7% of market value
The building & construction segment accounted for 83.7% of fire-resistant glass value in 2025 and is also expected to post the fastest growth through 2031. Stringent building codes and rising demand for fire protection in residential, commercial, institutional, and infrastructure projects are pushing adoption of the material in doors, partitions, facades, windows, and curtain walls. Growth in high-rise construction, healthcare facilities, and transportation infrastructure is widening the addressable base.
Laminated glass leads today, ceramic glass grows fastest
Laminated glass held a 57.7% value share in 2025, remaining the dominant product type. Ceramic glass, however, is forecast to register the highest CAGR of any segment, driven by its thermal stability, optical clarity, and resistance to thermal shock, alongside manufacturing advances that improve fire performance.
Asia Pacific outpaces global growth rate
Asia Pacific is set to grow at a 10.8% CAGR through 2031, the highest of any region, on the back of urbanization, rising construction spend, and stricter fire-safety regulation. Expanding production and distribution networks in the region, alongside remodeling activity, are reinforcing demand for certified fire-protection glazing.
POLFLAM secures $56 million to fund expansion
In April 2025, Poland's mBank S.A. and PKO Bank Polski provided POLFLAM Sp. z o.o. with financing of approximately USD 56 million, with CMS advising on the deal and BCGL representing the company. The capital backs POLFLAM's expansion as a supplier of fire-resistant, energy-efficient, and decorative glass to domestic and international markets.
National Guard Products expands via two acquisitions
Consolidation activity in the sector has centered on manufacturing capacity and product-line expansion. National Guard Products, Inc. acquired Anemostat Door Products to strengthen availability of its fire-rated glazed products, and separately acquired Glassopolis Specialty Glass to expand architectural glazing processing and distribution capabilities.
Established manufacturers dominate a fragmented supplier base
Saint-Gobain, SCHOTT AG, AGC Inc., Nippon Sheet Glass Co., Ltd., and Central Glass Co., Ltd. are identified as the market's leading players based on industry coverage and financial strength. Among smaller firms, Metalco, Diamond Glass, and Guangdong Ming'an Fire Door & Window Co. have built market position through marketing reach and funding for portfolio expansion. Additional named competitors include Saverto Group, National Guard Products, Etex Group, SAFTI FIRST, POLFLAM, PRESS GLASS Holding, Heshan Hengbao Fireproof Glass Factory, Glas Trösch Holding, Allegion plc, and Isoclima Group.
