Financial Street Forum 2026 Opens in Beijing With 400+ Guests

Beijing – October 19, 2026 -- The 2026 Annual Conference of Financial Street Forum opened in Beijing with more than 400 guests from around the world, running four days under the theme of building an open, collaborative and inclusive ecosystem for global financial development.

Organizers frame the agenda around openness, cooperation and inclusiveness

Zeng Linfeng, executive secretary-general of the organizing committee's secretariat and acting head of Beijing's Xicheng district, told a pre-forum news conference that the theme reflects accelerating global change and mounting challenges for the world economy and global financial operations.

Zeng said the conference calls for better coordination of financial development and security, wider development space through opening-up, stronger systemic resilience through cooperation, and mutual benefits through an inclusive approach.

Five Chinese regulators and institutions host thematic sessions in the main forum

The four-day program combines a main forum, several parallel forums and three conferences on fintech, insurance and investment. The main forum includes opening and closing ceremonies plus five thematic activities. They are hosted by the People's Bank of China, the National Financial Regulatory Administration, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, Xinhua News Agency and the State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE).

Standard Chartered and DWS Group leaders to speak at SAFE session on Thursday

Leaders of global financial firms, including Standard Chartered and DWS Group, will attend the SAFE activity on Thursday. They will discuss cross-border financial development and cooperation under the new global landscape.

The thematic sessions will also address long-term investment opportunities in China's capital market under two-way opening-up, and healthy interactions between the financial market and the real economy.

Parallel forums bring officials and international institutions to two themes

The parallel forums have invited government officials from China and abroad, experts, scholars and representatives of international financial institutions. They will focus on two themes: high-level opening-up of the finance sector, and financial support for high-quality economic development.
