Vienna – October 14, 2026 -- Fibocom is showing a 5G-Advanced fixed wireless access (FWA) module that adds Upper 6GHz (U6G) support and delivers peak 5G downlink speeds of up to 10Gbps. The FG390-MEA-30 variant is on display at NetworkX 2026.
FG390-MEA-30 adds NR n104 and cross-band aggregation with Sub-6GHz
The module is built on MediaTek's 3GPP Release 18 T930 platform. It supports NR n104 and works alongside Sub-6GHz bands through carrier aggregation combinations including CA_n41A-n104A and CA_n78A-n104A. Fibocom says pairing U6G bandwidth with established Sub-6GHz coverage raises throughput while keeping connectivity reliable.
The module targets customer premises equipment (CPE), outdoor units (ODUs) and enterprise gateways. Fibocom says it simplifies product development, streamlines certification and shortens time to market.
Upper 6GHz offers 700MHz of spectrum across 6425-7125MHz
The band provides substantial contiguous bandwidth for network capacity and throughput. Fibocom cites 10-gigabit home broadband, 8K streaming, cloud gaming, AR/VR, enterprise wireless access and smart campus networking as target uses.
e& UAE launches commercial U6G deployment as Zhejiang Mobile tops 10Gbps
According to Fibocom, U6G is moving from technical validation to commercial deployment. e& UAE has launched a commercial Upper 6GHz network, and Zhejiang Mobile has demonstrated downlink throughput above 10Gbps. European operators are advancing 6GHz trials and field validation. Latin America and Central Asia are running live-network tests and use-case validation.
Evan Su, General Manager of Wireless Communications at MediaTek, said the companies are extending U6G capabilities on T930 to help accelerate 5G-Advanced FWA innovation.
Sunzhi Liu, General Manager of Fibocom's MBB Business Unit, said operators and device makers must turn new spectrum into deployable FWA products faster. Fibocom plans to keep working with MediaTek, global operators and device partners on U6G validation and commercialization.
