Ningbo, China – September 09, 2026 -- EVE Energy has cut its maritime transit time to Hamburg by nearly 50% after becoming one of the first Chinese battery manufacturers to deploy the Northern Sea Route for lithium product exports.
Battery cargo departs Ningbo aboard MV Dubai Tower for 20-day Arctic transit
The shipment left Ningbo Zhoushan Port on August 15 aboard the MV Dubai Tower and is scheduled to reach Hamburg in approximately 20 days, cutting nearly half the voyage time required by traditional China-Europe maritime routes. The batteries were manufactured at EVE Energy's production bases in Huizhou and Jingmen before being consolidated for ocean shipment.
Hamburg cargo to feed EVE Energy's German and Hungarian production facilities
Upon arrival in Hamburg, the cargo will be distributed to major European markets including Germany and Hungary, where EVE Energy operates local production facilities. The China-Europe Arctic Express service now runs on an annual regular basis, covering major European trading ports.
Company cites four operational advantages for the Arctic corridor
EVE Energy outlined four benefits of running the Arctic route alongside traditional shipping lanes: a nearly 50% reduction in logistics-cycle time, lower exposure to shipping disruptions from geopolitical frictions in conventional sea areas, more stable temperature conditions, and a roughly 50% cut in carbon emissions per shipment. During the summer navigation window, the route maintains temperatures between -3°C and 10°C, a range the company says protects high-value, temperature-sensitive lithium batteries from heat-induced quality degradation during long-distance transport.
Dual-route logistics model to support European battery demand growth
The Arctic corridor now operates in parallel with EVE Energy's traditional maritime routes, forming what the company describes as a dual logistics system. EVE Energy said the faster, more resilient supply chain is intended to support rising European demand for lithium batteries and expectations for quicker delivery, while backing the scale-up of its local manufacturing and cooperation across the region.
