Calgary – September 11, 2026 -- Enbridge Inc. (TSX: ENB) (NYSE: ENB) announced that Michele Harradence will become President and CEO effective January 1, 2027, succeeding Greg Ebel, who will retire December 31, 2026.
Board appoints Harradence to CEO role and Board of Directors
Harradence, currently Executive Vice-President and President of Gas Distribution and Storage, will also join Enbridge's Board of Directors upon taking over as CEO. Ebel will remain a Board member through his retirement date and serve as an advisor to the Board and Harradence from January through May 2027.
Ebel's tenure includes $41 billion growth backlog and Dominion utility acquisitions
Steve Williams, Chair of Enbridge's Board, credited Ebel with securing the company's $41 billion growth project backlog and expanding its natural gas platform through the acquisition of three U.S. natural gas utilities from Dominion Energy. Ebel joined Enbridge in 2017 during its merger with Spectra Energy, where he had served as President and CEO, and became Enbridge's President and CEO in January 2023.
Harradence oversees gas utility platform serving 7.2 million customers
Since 2022, Harradence has led Enbridge's gas utilities, overseeing the integration of U.S. utility businesses into what the company describes as one of North America's largest integrated gas utility platforms, serving 7.2 million homes, schools, hospitals and businesses across Canada and the United States. She previously served as Senior Vice-President and Chief Operations Officer in Enbridge's Gas Transmission and Midstream business in Houston, joining Enbridge in 2014 after senior leadership roles at Shell Canada.
Succession follows multi-year Board planning process
The appointment follows a multi-year succession planning process led by the Board, reflecting Harradence's leadership across Enbridge's gas distribution, gas transmission and midstream businesses, as well as prior experience in oil sands and refining in Canada.
